CRIBoard Website Privacy Policy
The short version:
- Your game, scores, and player names stay in your web browser. We never see them.
- The website uses a few small cookies. Required ones keep it working, and optional analytics and advertising ones are only used if you allow them.
- Players don't need an account, and we don't ask for their name or email.
- A venue that signs up for a branded board gives us its details and an email address, to set up the board.
- Nothing on the website costs money, so it never asks for payment details.
This policy covers the CRIBoard website at criboard.com.

Who we are
The CRIBoard website lets you keep score for two-player cribbage in your web browser. It is made by Essare LLC ("we", "us").
This policy explains what information the website handles, why, and the choices you have.
Questions? Email us at info@criboard.com.
Information that stays in your browser
The website saves the game in progress, its scores, its player names, and its undo history in your browser's storage, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off.
This information is never sent to us.
Clearing your browser's data for criboard.com deletes it.
Some browsers don't keep this information in private browsing.
Cookies
The website uses cookies, which are small pieces of text your browser keeps.
Required cookies remember your cookie choice and that you visited the home page. They keep the website working, so they are always on. The venue sign-up page also uses Google reCAPTCHA, which sets a cookie of its own.
Optional analytics cookies help us understand which features people use and where problems occur. Optional advertising cookies support advertising and measure its performance. We only use them if you allow them.
If you allow analytics, the website uses Google Analytics, a service from Google. It counts the pages you open, and Google receives details such as your device, your browser, and your approximate location. Until you allow it, nothing is loaded from Google.
You choose on the privacy options page, and can change your choice any time.
The Cookie Details page lists every cookie, what it does, and how long it lasts.
Venue sign-ups
A bar, brewery, game room or other venue can sign up for a free board with its logo at criboard.com/venues/.
The person signing up gives us the venue's name, its logo, the web address the logo should open, their email address, and any note they add.
If they type the venue's website, our server visits it to find the venue's logo and name.
We keep sign-ups in our private code repository on GitHub, which stores them for us, so we can review them.
We use the email address only to tell the venue about its board, and we don't add it to any mailing list.
Once we approve a board, the venue's name, logo and link are public on its board and table card.
We keep a venue's details while its board exists. Email us to have the board removed, or the email address deleted.
To stop bots, the sign-up page uses Google reCAPTCHA. Google receives details such as your IP address, your browser and device, and how you use the page, and sets a cookie, under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. It is only used on the sign-up page.
Information our web host receives
Like every website, criboard.com is delivered by a web hosting service.
When your browser loads a page, the hosting service receives the technical details any website gets: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page asked for, and the time.
The hosting service uses these details to deliver the website and to keep it secure, and may keep them in its logs for a short time.
We don't use them to identify you.
